Heyyy,

My name is Melissa I am passionate about helping individuals navigate dating, relationships, partnerships, and polycules in ways that feel authentic and aligned with their personal values. I provide a supportive space to help you strengthen communication, build confidence, explore your sexuality, and move toward the life and relationships you desire.

I understand how vulnerable and complicated intimacy can feel, especially when you're struggling with confidence, communication, or sexual satisfaction. I specialize in helping couples deepen their connection and increase satisfaction in their relationships while also supporting single individuals as they navigate the challenges of modern dating, self-discovery, and building meaningful connections.

“Sex is a big part of the human experience but in our society, it can be very shameful to talk about. In a lot of ways, exploring intimacy can be exciting and can help you learn a lot about yourself. I want to be here to help individuals and partners unlock a new version of themself while not having to experience the guilt or shame we’ve been programmed to feel.”

Credentials & Experience

I am not only a sex coach, but also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate (LCSWA) and sex therapist. I got my BS in Psychology at UNC Charlotte along with my Masters in Social Work at NC State. While sex coaching is very different from therapy, I draw from my extensive clinical training and experience to help clients achieve the goals they want to reach both in and out of the bedroom.

I have also received these specialized trainings:

  • Competent Care for Trans/Gender Non-Conforming Adults

  • Out of Control Sexual Behavior (OCSB)

This means that I the ethics training, research-based knowledge, and clinical experience that you’d want in a coach.

BUT, sex coaching is not the same as sex therapy and here is why:

  • Sex therapy focuses on treating mental illness; sex coaching does not

  • Sex therapy looks at the past; sex coaching is more focused on the present and future

So, while I am qualified to provide both of these services, I want to be very clear that what I offer here at Kinkish is coaching, not therapy. Mental health, past experiences, trauma, and emotional conflicts certainly play a role in the coaching experience but they are not the focus, which is what sets this apart from therapy.

If you are confused about whether you would benefit more from therapy or coaching, please read this page!
